Misalignments allow additional room for the heim joint to pivot, that comes simply from the shape of the misalignment. Another function of misalignment is to serve as a spacer and reducer, this allows the use of a smaller bolt than the bore of the Heim. This is for a 1/2" rod end with a 1/2" bore. The misalignment reduces the 1/2 bore heim down to fit a 3/8" bolt and has a overall mounting width of 1 1/2"
