Land Cruiser 9.5" Differential Cover
This is it, finally! We made 23 attempts to make this cover, then we ignored it for a year before taking it up again. Garett finally took up the challenge and then convinced me it was the only way to go.
I had tried to make them like our other covers, one piece and one bent plate. It was simply impossible for the round covers. I have seen several besides our and they were simply ground to hell and back to try and get them to fit.
The other side of it was that I kept insisting we could make them from 3/8" plate. If you have ever removed a Cruiser 3rd member you know just how close the top and bottom studs are to the ring gear. So, I admitted defeat and Garett proved to me his cover was even stronger than mine even made from 1/4" rather than 3/8" due to the shape.
It does have an interesting look!
We no longer use the studs and we provide the bolts. They are welded inside and out and machined flat like the rest of our covers but they have 3 times the work involved so they have to cost more. These clear the largest Ring gear (4.10) by 1/8" and they don't stick out like our earlier Cruiser covers. I think you will be pleased!
