This is our basic differential cover. The Ford 8.8 axle is easy to find in Ford Explorers, F150's, 4.0 liter Rangers, & a ton of Ford cars too. The Diff Cover is a 1 piece Plate steel cover bent 8 ways, way hard to hurt in .375 (3/8"). The ring is .5" (1/2") thick. The fill plug is a generous 3/4" ID for easy fill and oil level check, it is located 1" above where the factory "Should" have put it in a stock vehicle to account for Pinion adjustment. The 8.8 is so popular because it is such an easy swap into any series of Jeep or Cherokee. One of the reasons it is so hard to hurt is that we manufacture it out of A50 Plate Steel, thats 50,000 PSI Tensile strength. After welding the mounting surface is machined absolutely flat for a perfect fit! This is for a fully welded Ford 8.8 Diff Cover, welded inside and out and it will include a Fill Plug.
