Spring Perches, Antiwrap |
 |
| I saw a post the other day about the one size fits all spring perches being offered by one of my competitors and I thought, is this some amazing new thing? I had to go to there website and look. It was a fairly well known company so I thought he may have come up with something revolutionary. I was let down, he was suggesting that a 2 3/8" wide perch and a 3" axle cutout was all you ever needed. I believe you want to setup your axle and suspenion correctly with the right sized Spring Perches. That is why we offer 11 different Spring perches From the very narrow CJ perches with a 2 1/2" axle cut to the 2 3/4" wide FJ40 perches with the pumkin cutout already done for you. Who wants to spend there day grinding perches to fit, do you have any idea how long it takes to make a CJ perch fit a 14 Bolt housing? The fitting of the perch to the tube is only the beggining, if the spring is allowed to have overlap over the perch it will move from side to side, constantly moving the Ubolts from side to side, not a good thing. Spring perches must be matched to the Ubolt Plates and the springs, a 1/16" overlap is reasonable, a 1/4" is not, and a spring smaller than the perch is unacceptable. Enough of my Rant, pick the perch that fits your springs. |
