Axle Side Mount Shock Brackets

This is what you have been waiting for! We wanted to make a bracket to eliminate the Single Shear of Shock Mounting Posts found on so many vehicles (Blazers, Land Cruisers, and lots of different Jeep models). I am very happy with the results. With these you can mount 1 1/4", 1 1/2", or 1 3/4" eye Air shocks or Standard shocks the second tab is a floater that you decide where it needs to be. It also has a "floor" for additional protection and rigidity and the floor has 2 drain holes so you don't collect anything. It is designed to mount on either the leading or trailing edge of the axle tube so you can adjust your WB and keep the shock as low & as long as possible at the same time. They are also real handy when fitting everything on the front axle on a linked front end. With wider shocks weld the nut to the floating tab so you can get at it.

Details:

  • 1/4" thick
  • 1/2" bolt hole
  • Unwelded

I used these to install a Chrysler 8.25" rear axle in my Cherokee. I hated the factory mounts which hung below the axle about 3". The brackets fit well and are quite sturdy. I had no issue with fitting the nut on the inside of the bracket as a previous reviewer states, but I can see there could be an issue if using larger shock bushings like those used on full size trucks. (Jeep shocks use 1.5" wide bushings and many fullsize use 1.75" wide bushings) My only complaint is that they need to be mounted inside the inner axle u-bolt instead of stradling the u-bolt like the factory shock bracket location. This (very slightly)reduces the angle at which the shock operates.
