Trailing Arm Set RZR XP 1000 (Campbell Series)
Our Campbell designed Trailing Arms are completely different than the factory arms. The reason is first and foremost to avoid dents. Dents immediately become the area where the arm will bend, by avoiding the initial dent you avoid the eventual bend.
How do we do that? It is really kind of simple, we dont allow it by pressing a 1.75 7075 aluminum bar into the 2 x .120 wall 4130 chromoly tubing, completely filling the tubing with aluminum which makes that first dent nearly impossible. By avoiding the first dent we avoid nearly all possible failures. Also by going round we gained nearly 1 of vertical clearance. The arms raced in KOH this year are all still on the 3 XP1000 Turbos that took 1st, 2nd, and 15th place in a field of 97 starters and they definitely took hundreds of serious impacts but are still as straight as when new! While of those 97 starters only 70 finished.
The second step we took to make these better than the others is how we constructed the hub cage. It is CNC cut and bent .188 thick 4130 chromoly plate that is reinforced structurally by a formed double gusset over 7 long. This is a huge increase in strength over stock.
Finally we replaced the stock bearing with a Ύ Heat Treated 4130 chromoly heim joint to increase both flexibility and durability. The remaining hardware is a 10.9 grade to match the factory hub and chassis metric patterns.
Our arms include all hardware and are a complete bolt on replacement for stock. You will need wheels with a maximum 3.5 backspace, we use Raceline 15 Double Beadlocks with a 2 backspacing. This wider stance increases both stability and travel. The weight of the arms is 24lbs each, 5.5lbs heavier than stock with a greater than 400% increase in strength, I think that is a fair trade!
These Trailing Arms are a direct bolt in replacement for the factory arms and include all you need to do it right the first time! Installation time is about 1.5 hour per arm and can be done by a novice mechanic. You will love the results!
