Description
14 Bolt Disc Brake Conversion Kit (SRW)
Replace heavy drum brakes with a lighter, stronger, and more responsive disc brake setup.
This kit converts full float 14 Bolt single rear wheel (SRW) axles found in GM/Chevy 3/4- and 1-ton trucks (1973–1987) from drum to disc brakes. It includes brackets, rotors, calipers, pads, hoses, and hardware for a complete install. The setup eliminates the weight and complexity of drums, improves stopping power, and is often cheaper than a drum rebuild. It is designed for axles where the drum mounts behind the hub (non-slip-over). To confirm fitment, the measurement from the 4-bolt caliper bracket flange to the hub face should be ~4-11/16".
The kit requires 15" steel wheels with max 4" backspacing, or larger aluminum wheels. It will not work with dually hubs or semi-float axles. Studs must drop freely into the rotors (do not press fit), and at least 5/8" of lug nut engagement is required. A manual proportioning valve is recommended to balance front/rear braking, and any residual valve in the system should be removed to prevent dragging. Re-bleed the system after installation.
