Gas Tank Skid Plate For Jeep XJ

The last thing you want to have happen out on the trail is to have to limp back to the trailhead with a gas tank that's leaking because you hit a rock. We designed our XJ Gas Tank Skid Plate to give you that peace of mind while out wheeling. We made the center skid from 3/16" steel and the sides from 1/8" steel to ensure your gas tank is protected while also saving you some weight. This skid plate is entirely bolt on and comes with all of the hardware needed to install.

  • Fits both 84-96 and 97-01 XJ's
  • Does not work with hitches that bolt to bottom of rails

Impressed

I was a little skeptical at first with the side brackets being 1/8 and not 3/16 like all the other company's but i've only been on 1 trail ride since i've installed and purposely went down on it with rocks to see how it held up and i was impressed on it taking a beating without showing any signs of give. I also like the 3 piece design the only thing i added was some 16ga steel where the exhaust is to act as a heat shield between the big holes in the side pieces.
