Description

Gas Tank Skid Plate for Jeep XJ Cherokee (1984–2001)

Trail-proven protection for your XJ’s gas tank — without the weight penalty.

The last thing you want is to limp off the trail with a busted gas tank. This bolt-on skid plate is built to keep that from happening. Designed specifically for the Jeep XJ, it uses 3/16" steel in the center where you’re most likely to take a hit, and 1/8" steel on the sides to reduce weight without sacrificing protection. It fits both early (1984–1996) and late (1997–2001) XJ models and includes all the mounting hardware you’ll need to bolt it up and hit the trail.

This is a no-compromise upgrade for serious wheelers who want lightweight strength and clean installation. Just bolt it on — no cutting, no welding — and drive with peace of mind.

Impressed

I was a little skeptical at first with the side brackets being 1/8 and not 3/16 like all the other company's but i've only been on 1 trail ride since i've installed and purposely went down on it with rocks to see how it held up and i was impressed on it taking a beating without showing any signs of give. I also like the 3 piece design the only thing i added was some 16ga steel where the exhaust is to act as a heat shield between the big holes in the side pieces.
