This tube adapter is built for folks who want to do it once and do it right. Designed for 1.25” Heim joints with 12 TPI right-hand threads, it fits snugly into 1.5” ID tubing — ideal for .120" or .250" wall DOM.

The 1.5” hex head makes adjustments simple with a standard wrench, no need for vice grips or fighting with your setup. When paired with a left-hand adapter, you can dial in link length without removing anything — just loosen the jam nuts and rotate.

Welding Tip: Correct welder settings are key — start your puddle on the tube, not the adapter. Never weld with the rod end threaded in, and allow full cooling before threading rod ends to prevent warping or seizing.

Awesome Tube adapter/ threaded bung?

The quality of the threaded adapters from RS is second to none! These work perfectly as they should every time, PERIOD... I've got RS's 1ton steering, brackets and these and have no complaints. A great company with amazing products.

These are a good design. The flats are almost 1.5" long, plenty of room to get a big wrench around. The adapters are hex shaped, which makes them easier to tighten on the rig than others' adapters that only have two flats ground into the insert. The inside threads stop near where the tube gets welded, which should also minimize any distortion due to too much weld heat.

1.25" hex head tube adapters

After looking around at a number of options for my suspension link ends, I opted for these adapters and they are BEEFY. Having a hex end was important to me and these provide a ton of area for getting a wrench on to hold the link while tightening jam nuts.

1.25" hex head tube adaptor

Ordered these hex head tube adaptors for my control arms, and once fit up...area of weld was perfect size depth to be Tig welded. Can be mig welded, but I prefer to Tig small parts. OD of hex head is same Size as the OD of the tube. Highly recommend.
