Description

Sterling SRW Axle Disc Brake Kit

Complete disc brake conversion for Ford Sterling single rear wheel axles (1984–1997).

This kit converts older-style Sterling full float SRW axles from drums to discs, improving braking performance, reducing weight, and simplifying maintenance. Designed for Sterling axles found in 3/4- and 1-ton Ford trucks (1984–1997) with the standard 8x6.5 lug pattern, it replaces outdated drum brakes with rotors, calipers, pads, and all necessary hardware. The brackets are designed to work with stock housings, with included spacers for variations between 3/4- and 1-ton applications.

Compatible with single rear wheel full-float axles only, this kit will not work with semi-float, dually, or metric lug pattern Sterlings. Installation requires 16" steel wheels with ≤4" backspacing or larger aluminum wheels. Rotors slip over the hub for easy service. Proper brake bleeding, a proportioning valve, and removal of any residual valve are recommended for correct brake balance and performance.

The parking brake is worth it!!

I bought this WITH the e-brake option for my heavy '93 F350 Crew Cab SRW RWD 5-Speed. With the manual tranny, I needed holding power at the boat ramp that the factory drum e-brake never provided. With a couple of YT videos, carefully reading the product page, and a couple of quick support calls with Eric, I am stoked with the upgrade! I hold in place at the boat ram easily now!! I took Eric's advice, and also purchased the Lokar EC-80-FU universal e-brake cables. It made my project much easier and more professional. I am very satisfied, and wish I had done this upgrade long ago.

Easy Peasy

Straight forward conversion. Get a set of universal E-brake cables before install. Also research how to adjust the calipers to the rotor depth. Stops on a dime now.

Sterling axle disc brake kit

I put this kit on my 96 crew cab f350 and it worked fine it says on here that the rotor goes behind the hub but I but it in front of the hub just like the drum goes on and had to space the bracket towards the leaf spring a little bit you want about 3/4 of a inch between the bracket and the rotor hope this helps good product would buy again
